Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage (IHM) is an effective and non- invasive treatment, which has evolved from traditional techniques practised in India over thousands of years, as part of a family ritual and is also known as Champissage.

This massage covers the upper back, upper arms, neck, scalp and face allowing the upper body to relax and feel revived. No special equipment is needed as IHM is given in a seated position on a normal chair. IHM was practised by Indian women on members of their families, for maintenance of beautiful hair condition and oils such as mustard, coconut, and sesame, amongst others, were traditionally used on the scalp. Clients may choose to have oils or not, at each treatment, according to individuals needs.

This treatment is a popular, conventional massage without the need of the removal of clothing and therefore very easy to give in any setting. IHM is often given as a seated massage in the workplace, enabling stress relief, revitalisation and can help to restore depleted energy levels.
